We, Co-Treetment are delighted today to announce that we have become a Gold Patron sponsor for the University of Nottingham (UoN) first solar car!
We all know that the electric vehicle revolution has already begun, and the next step in sustainable transport is renewables-based vehicles. Both Co-Treetment and University of Nottingham team members are passionate about developing the skills required to engineer and build a greener future; for Co-Treetment we started in 2019 with the vision to help via planting and maintaining trees; for University of Nottingham the future is being determined now via innovation and a desire to become the UK’s newest solar car team.
Using the Co-Treetment patronage we are helping the University of Nottingham to realise their dream to develop their skills, knowledge, understanding, teamwork to a point where there will be a solar powered vehicle ready for their first competition!
Our contribution, will help enormously in aiding the development in some of the following ways:-
1. Lightweight bodywork to improve the car’s aerodynamic efficiency
2. Compact packaging for the car’s electrical systems
3. Expert training for team members, so they master the skills to become future sustainability champions
4. Essential equipment to keep the car and team working safely through the 24 hour competition
5. Transporting the car and team to the competition
University of Nottingham have a team of passionate students who work on the solar car in their spare time, alongside our degrees. They range from 1st year undergraduates to final year PhDs. For each of them the solar car project represents an invaluable experience: a team and skills-building opportunity, with the ultimate reward of seeing their car driving along, powered by the sun.
We at Co-Treetment are proud to be part of this important journey and to have joined together with a likeminded future focused entity who will help in bringing technology forward that can help all of us.
Good luck to everyone involved, we hope after reading this more people will join together with us
Feel free to contact us Co-Treetment if you need any more details about what we do, and how we are continuing in putting #PlanetBeforeProfit
