Last was a very busy one for the team at Co-Treetment, culminating with the planting of over 1000 trees, leading to us now having 4500 trees in the ground at our land.
To be able to achieve this we had to plan meticulously, order the tree whips, the canes and the spirals. That’s just a few clicks on the keyboard, but important ones. We needed to cut the grass to make it easier to plant, measure the field for the tree locations and populate the locations with canes as markers.
Certainly the recent weather didn’t make it easy, unfortunately one of our vehicles got seriously bogged in. Funny initially – but soon very challenging as there was no transportation for all the hardware, and oh boy what a lot of hardware you need to plant trees with 35 other people!
We overcame the challenge, we always do, with a smile, a chuckle, a few choice words, but always a commitment to move forward.
We took time out on the day for a sincere moment, planting some memorial trees for two customers that unfortunately lost loved ones recently. The ground was fantastic for digging, one good part of the recent rain, not forgetting of course that in the past we have planted in snow, frosted rock hard ground, and dry hard ground, so the omens for the following days plans looked good. In total we managed to plant 150 trees with the three of us all mucking in.
On the second day, 21st March we were delighted to welcome different customers to the site to plant trees. We started early in the morning and worked through with a break for lunch until 4pm. Through their team efforts by the end of Thursday 900 new silver birch trees were occupying the field, looking great.
Thanks to our customers at AMG Wealth, Senior Partner Practice of St. James’s Place, Document Network Services Limited, BOAL Extrusion UK for being such great sports and getting stuck in with the planting, going above and beyond. Great job all of you, fun was had by us all, looking forward to more activities later in 2024 and beyond.
