Update on Co-Treetment field and forest | July 9th 2023

Keeping on top of the work needed in ensuring a forest reaches its full potential is vital. All too often, as we quite often see in new building developments and road networks along side the road, trees are planted and left. Experience has taught us that trees need to be looked after. or they will not prosper.

With that in mind and after a busy few weeks of work, holidays and day to day life the Co-Treetment team made our way to our mini-forest. Ahead of us we had planned for a maintenance day. Our focus being on decluttering around the trees and removing weeds and anything that was restricting the trees from prospering.

Our philosophy remains that nobody involved with Co-Treetment takes a wage, dividend, or payment for what we do; we do this as we believe that it’s more important to make a difference than to make a few pounds.

Absorbing CO2 via growing trees is a very simple way of making our world, the planet we all live on a better place. Seeing the fruits of our labour is so compelling; it’s been hard work, of course it has and we won’t pull back from what we are doing, our charity commitments to Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre and University Of Nottingham Racing Team remain as we look in ways of developing a better future for people and our planet.

So on Sunday; we cleared around the trees, removed nettles, weeds and unwanted undergrowth that was strangling the trees, generally tidied around, and set aside trees for new customers that we are hoping to join us.

The field, the trees and areas are visible for all to see in the photographs that we have included in this post. Amazed to see how green the field was and how much the trees have grown; some trees you’ll see from our 2020 planting are nigh on 15ft tall with substantial trunks, others are newly planted and have taken root and are looking good; we calculated that around 98% of our recent efforts in planting have been successful.

If you feel like helping us to make a difference then please visit our site and order some trees, it is simple and an effective way to help us in planning the future for the field and in putting #PlanetBeforeProfit

We mapped the trees, and have over 3,500 now in the ground and would love to hear from you either in our post as a reply or via the website. Placing an order for trees has never been simpler, a link is included below to help:-
