Every year, non-profit organisations, like Co-Treetment along with government entities come together to create awareness about the need to protect the environment. The day is celebrated on June 5 to advocate the causes of the environment call of action.
Given that backdrop it seems appropriate for us to provide an update about Co-Treetment from our latest forest maintenance day yesterday, June 4th 2023.
We have had a busy few months planting and yesterday take stock of our mini-forest, and to see the fruits of our labours over the last couple of years, amazing to think we began over 3 years ago now..
We are a not for profit company, nobody involved with Co-Treetment takes a wage, dividend, or payment for what we do; we continue to do this as we believe that it’s more important to make a difference than to make a few pounds.
Absorbing CO2 and growing trees is a very simple way of making our world, the planet we all live on a better place.
On Sunday; we have cut down some of the grass in and around the planting areas, generally tidied around, and set aside trees for new customers that we are hoping to join us. Our most important job was to remove our tree shelters (spiral wraps) from our oldest trees, 3 years in age, because after this time having the trunks encased can lead to fungus and potentially premature death of the trees.
You could almost hear the trees breathing a sigh of relief when we removed the shelters! And it reminded us of just how many trees had successfully grown in the top corner of the field, well over 300 shelters were removed.
Once again we were bowled over by how green the field was and how much the trees have grown; some trees you’ll see from our 2020 planting, others are newly planted and have taken root and are well established already; leaves are already in view and around 98% of our recent efforts in planting have been successful.
If you feel like helping us to make a difference then please visit our site and order some trees, it is simple and an effective way to help us in planning the future for the field and in putting #PlanetBeforeProfit
We have over 3,400 now in the ground and would love to hear from you either in our post as a reply or via the website. Placing an order for trees has never been simpler, a link is included below to help:-
