The summary of our weekend is quite simply, a fabulous weekend of planting. What made it so?
Well for the first time in a few planting sessions we had fantastic weather; we had two teams – one for Saturday and one for Sunday; and more importantly we had the trees in our hands and at the site!
The soil was everything we’d ever dreamed of, soft, easily diggable, crumbling in our hands and meant we could back-fill the holes in no time at all.
Team Saturday got to the site for 0730hrs and began their ‘shift’ – managing to complete 350 trees by 1400hrs – so an early knock off, back to their houses to warm up. the team on that day consisted of Keith Cox, Darrell Taylor and Chris Hotham with his family; 6 people in total.
For Sunday we decided we deserved a lay in so go to the site for 0900hrs; just three of us Darrell Taylor, Simon Evans and Andrew – our newest helper. We had 90 trees to put in towards the 500 total. So for those of you that are counting; 350 + 90 is 440, leaving us 60 to be planted. For these 60 we had a family arrive on the site at 1230hrs who were remembering a loved one that had recently passed away; they all led in planting that remaining 60 with gusto.
So there you have it; another 500 in. Great teamwork, just the sound of us talking and the birds singing, a very pleasant change from the typical day to day hustle and bustle.
We plan not only to plant out this 500 in but also repeating the same in March, plus more planting with a key customer (watch for the update on that) – totalling over 2500 trees for the season.
Our reason for this is to enable us to complete the orders we anticipate for 2023 whilst also of course making a difference to the planet.
So as of today, we have as Co-Treetment over 2500 trees in the ground, and by the end of the planting season (Oct-March) this figure will reach ~3500; we think that’s incredible and we’d like to thank all of our customers, existing and new ones that haven’t yet ordered from us, we couldn’t do this without you.
Continue please to follow us as we have many news items to follow. If what you have seen and read about Co-Treetment inspires you, then feel free to contact us and of course buy tree(s) from our website
