As many of you know Co-Treetment and Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre have been collaborating on a fundraising initiative whereby tree purchases are used to support the sending of young people to Skegness to the holiday centre there.
This has been reported by us over the last months and so far sufficient funding for sending 1.3 children to Skegness has been raised. Of course a 1/3 of a child can’t be sent so you’ll be delighted to hear that we are busy raising funds to round that figure out to be 2 children!
So last Thursday – 12th January 2023, Co-Treetment were invited to join the fundraising team for an update session that enabled us all to understand more about our company and further details on what inspires us to work hard as a not for profit.
We were amazed by the collection of people that were present at the the event; the fundraisers were engaging, supportive and very interested in what we do. More importantly Co-Treetment were inspired to learn more about what they do.
This delightful bunch of unseen or hidden heroes have collectively been working hard across multiple activities to raise funds for the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre; everything from stalls at markets, raffles, knitting of clothes for the children, company engagements, you name these folks were doing it.
Their enthusiasm was amazing, there were people from all walks of life, the oldest member there was 93 but had the energy of a person much younger; if this is what supporting charities does for you then count us in! We were also touched by the presence of fundraisers that themselves had stayed at the home in Skegness during their childhood.
All of there that night are committed to making a difference; we witnessed first hand the value of the holiday home, we ourselves have had several people purchasing trees that had stayed there. We do want to do more, we can with your help do more. We have included a link below on our online shop – £10 makes such a difference
