This week was a really important, and somewhat challenging week for the Co-Treetment team. We had planned to put 600 trees into the ground on our land a few weeks ago; heck we’d even got organised and ordered them way in advance.
We’d made sure our trees were UK grown and as local to us as possible. To the Co-Treetment team it seems somewhat odd that suppliers of trees in the UK do source from other countries, which for obvious reasons the carbon footprint is significantly higher.
So trees ordered; planting scheduled for 3 weeks ago; good plan but the weather saw to it that our trees were delivered to us in Derby on Wednesday 21st December. With it being the build up to Christmas it would have no doubt phased other less resilient companies, but not Co-Treetment.
As you can see on Thursday and Friday of this week the small but very committed team of Simon Evans, Darrell Taylor, Keith Cox and Alison Evans pulled on our scruffiest clothes and made our way to our field near Thringstone.
The result from two days of intensive work (thank you Darrell and Keith for going the extra mile), was 600 trees are now in the ground, absorbing CO2 and fulfilling customer orders.
We plan also to plant in January, February and March a further 2000 trees – this is to enable us to complete the orders we anticipate for 2023 whilst also of course making a difference to the planet.
Thank you to all of our customers, existing and new ones that haven’t yet ordered from us, we couldn’t do this without you. Continue please to follow us as we have many news items to follow, for now let us again say to all of you, Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year 2023.
